Crenoe for Wear OS
Pacer, intervals and heart rate alerts on your Wear OS watch.
Crenoe records your run with the watch’s own GPS and heart rate sensor, keeps you on pace with vibrations you can read without looking, and sends every run to Crenoe for the analysis afterwards.
Free to install. Needs a watch on Wear OS 3 or newer and an Android phone. Install Crenoe on the phone, then add the watch app from the same Google Play listing or from Play Store on your watch.
Pacer
Run to a finish time, not just a pace.
Set a distance (5K, 10K, half, marathon or your own) and a finish time or a pace, with a negative split if you want the second half faster. The pacer page shows how many seconds you are ahead or behind, the pace you need from here, and where you will finish.
- A vibration when you drift past ±3, ±5 or ±10 seconds of plan, and a short one when you’re back.
- A split every kilometer or mile, with the seconds gained or lost: Km 7: 5:39 (+4 s)
- Press the side button at an official race marker and the distance snaps to it, so GPS drift doesn’t throw off the plan.
PRORace pacer from your route. Pick your race route in Crenoe and the watch gets a pace plan for its hills, in a cool-weather and a hot-weather version, during the three weeks before race day.
How to set up the pacerVibrations
Read the watch without looking at it.
Every alert has its own rhythm, so your wrist tells you what happened. Each bar is one pulse, drawn as long as it lasts.
Intervals and workouts
Intervals that move to the next step for you.
Set a warm-up, repeats, recovery and cool-down on the watch. Each part ends by distance, by time or when you press lap, and the watch moves on and tells you what comes next.
- Distance or time goal with a progress ring and a buzz at halfway.
- PROBuild workouts in the Crenoe phone app: pyramids, mixed reps or several sets, with a pace range on any step. Off the range, the watch tells you: Too fast · 4:05/km · target 4:10–4:20
- PROToday’s session from your Crenoe plan arrives on the watch with its pace targets, adjusted for the forecast heat at the hour you plan to run.
- PROPace zone runs: hold your VDOT easy, marathon, tempo, interval or rep band, with a vibration when you leave it.
Heart rate
Keep easy runs easy.
Your five heart rate zones come from your Crenoe profile, so you set them once in the app. The zone ring along the top edge shows where you are at a glance.
- Under the ring, how much of the run you’ve spent in your current zone so far, such as 72% in Z3. It shows after the first minute of heart rate and follows you into the next zone.
- Heart rate alert: stay in a zone, or under a bpm limit such as MAF (180 minus your age). The watch vibrates after 5 seconds above the limit, then every 30 seconds until you ease off.
- Bluetooth chest straps and running foot pods connect on their own. If one drops out, the watch’s own sensor takes over.
- Time in each zone is saved with the run and shown when it ends.
Data screens
Screens you lay out on your phone.
In the Crenoe app, set up to 5 data pages with up to 5 rows of 3 fields, choose how labels and units sit, add the zone ring, and send it to the watch. A full page still fits: numbers shrink first, and labels move beside them when a row gets short, so nothing overlaps. The layout is saved to your account, so a new phone or a fresh login brings it back. These are the 34 fields to choose from.

Before the run
One screen, then Start.
The watch starts looking for GPS as soon as the app opens. Along the top, the start screen shows the GPS accuracy and the satellites in use, in orange while it searches and lime once it has a lock. Your target sits in the middle and Start runs along the bottom edge.
- Tap the target, or the flag, to pick free run, pacer, distance or time goal, or intervals. With PRO, today’s plan, your race plan and pace zone runs are there too.
- The sport button switches between run, trail run, treadmill and walk.
- If Location is off or a permission is missing, the screen says so, and Start opens the setting that fixes it.
The details you notice out on the road.
Live pace that holds still
Live pace comes from the GPS chip’s Doppler speed, averaged over 10 seconds, instead of jumping with every distance update.
Lap with the side button
Mark a lap with the physical button instead of tapping a sweaty screen. Auto-lap at 1, 2 or 5 km (or miles) is set in the app.
Your screen, your battery
Dim keeps the data on at low brightness when your wrist is down, Off saves the most battery, and Always on stays bright for the whole run.
Kilometers or miles
The watch follows the unit you picked in Crenoe, from pace and splits to elevation in feet.
Run, trail, treadmill, walk
Pick the sport on the start screen. Treadmill runs skip GPS and use the watch’s own pace estimate.
Nothing lost if the app closes
The run is written to the watch as you go. If the app is closed mid-run, it picks up from where it stopped.
PROMap page
Your route on a Mapbox map with your position moving every second. It loads over your phone’s connection or Wi-Fi; without one, the route line still shows.
After the run
The analysis happens in Crenoe.
When the watch is near your phone, the run goes to Crenoe as a FIT file, even with the app closed. Turn on Strava upload in Settings › Connections and it goes on to Strava as well.

Questions from Wear OS runners
Which watches does Crenoe work on?
Watches running Wear OS 3 or newer, paired with an Android phone that has the Crenoe app. We test on Pixel Watch 2. Galaxy Watch 4 and later also run Wear OS; if something doesn’t work on your model, email halo@crenoe.com.
Do I need to carry my phone on the run?
Not if your watch has GPS. The run is stored on the watch and goes to Crenoe the next time the watch is connected to your phone. Watches without GPS use the phone’s location, so bring the phone with those.
Does it work with an iPhone?
No. Wear OS watches pair only with Android phones, and the watch sends runs through the Crenoe Android app.
Is the watch app free?
Recording, the pacer, distance and time goals, intervals set on the watch, heart rate alerts, data screens and upload to Crenoe are free. PRO adds your plan’s daily session, the race pacer from your race route, VDOT pace zone runs, workouts built on the phone and the map page.
Can my watch runs go to Strava?
Yes. In Crenoe, open Settings › Connections and turn on Upload watch runs to Strava. New runs go to Strava after they reach Crenoe; watch runs from the last 30 days that weren’t sent can be uploaded from the activity menu.
Can I use a chest strap or a foot pod?
Yes. Pair a Bluetooth heart rate strap or running foot pod in the watch app’s settings. Saved sensors connect while the app is open and during runs; if one is off or out of range, the watch’s own sensor is used.
Does the watch show kilometers or miles?
It follows the distance unit you chose in Crenoe. Distance, pace, splits, auto-lap and elevation switch together.
What does the watch send to Crenoe?
A FIT file of the run with the GPS track, heart rate, cadence and laps. Crenoe processes it like any other activity; the privacy policy explains how activity data is stored.
